Enterprise Connect ended last week, but we’re still recovering from all the excitement and fun. This was the year that BlueJeans expanded our presence and reinforced our commitment to delivering an amazing meetings solution for our customers. We played a part in the Amazon, Microsoft, and Workplace by Facebook keynote sessions; announced and demonstrated new partner solutions; and shipped the new BlueJeans Meetings experience. Following are some of my personal highlights from the conference.
Dolby has a long history of innovating to deliver immersive experiences that span the senses. Traditionally, Dolby has delivered these technologies to the media and entertainment industries, with such offerings as Dolby Theater and Dolby Vision, to make for truly enveloping cinematic experiences. Last year, BlueJeans partnered with Dolby to integrate Dolby Voice technology into BlueJeans Meetings to eliminate traditional conferencing frustrations. In addition, the Dolby Conference Phone is now part of BlueJeans Rooms, allowing businesses of all sizes to turn any conference room into a highly functional, collaborative space with superior audio-visual technology.
This year, Dolby announced its new Dolby Voice Room, with BlueJeans as its launch partner. The Dolby Conference Phone is the centerpiece of the solution, combining amazing sound quality that accommodates diverse meeting spaces with a sleek user interface to start and manage meetings. Joining the Dolby Conference Phone is the 4k Dolby Voice Camera and Dolby Voice Hub – an appliance with its own embedded OS and enterprise-grade management. With these components, enterprises have a complete conference room solution that can be installed in as little as 15 minutes.
Microsoft announced Microsoft Teams a year ago at Enterprise Connect, so the company was excited to celebrate the product’s first birthday. And quite the celebration it was as Teams won the annual Best of Enterprise Connect Award. Microsoft is positioning Teams as the hub for teamwork in Office 365, and the company touted that it has over 200,000 customers already using the product.
With great chat, IM, presence, and telephony, Teams is taking off and BlueJeans is extending our Microsoft partnership beyond Skype, Outlook, and O365. As the only cloud-native partner to connect codec room systems to Microsoft Teams, we’re excited to see our customers take advantage of these features. A big thanks to Ilya Bukshteyn for giving BlueJeans a shout-out during Microsoft’s keynote session!
Workplace by Facebook
Frerk-Malte Feller, Director of Workplace Ecosystem Partnerships, took to the keynote stage to explain the company's enterprise-focused team collaboration app and where it is going next. Facebook has signed on more than 30,000 organizations around the globe that embrace Workplace for its familiar, fun, social paradigm that users immediately know how to use. Workplace values the power of integrations and of video collaboration, and has partnered with BlueJeans to deliver a seamlessly integrated solution. Feller highlighted the integration in his keynote, which drew throngs of traffic to the BlueJeans booth.
Amazon is deep in the enterprise communication business, and AWS keynote speakers David Isbitski, Chief Evangelist of Alexa and Echo, and Collin Davis, GM of Alexa for Business, focused heavily on their ubiquitous voice assistant Alexa and home and office-oriented Echo devices. Since Amazon also values integration to deliver a complete solution, the team showcased BlueJeans’ integration with Amazon for Business, which is pre-integrated into the offering, for no-touch meetings, and voice-activated meeting control.
BlueJeans has long provided one-touch interoperability and calendar-integrated one-touch meeting entry with Polycom video room systems. Adding to this integration, Polycom and BlueJeans announced that Polycom Trio is certified to work with the BlueJeans Meetings platform, which was on display in the Polycom booth.
And then there was BlueJeans’ own presence at the show, which was awesome. We launched our redesigned meetings platform, bringing video, audio and web conferencing together with the collaboration and messaging tools people use every day, and attendees simply loved the new experience.
Dolby Voice® is now integrated across the entire BlueJeans audio stack, from the cloud to the client, for ultra-wideband, spatial audio with noise reduction technology on any device. Additionally, BlueJeans launched a new version of the BlueJeans desktop app, which combines the fastest and simplest user interface with best-in-class reliability and enterprise control.
Our partner integrations were on full display at the BlueJeans booth, including Dolby Voice (and a station to hear the stunning spatial audio it delivers), Dolby Voice Rooms, one-touch Polycom and Cisco integration, Workplace by Facebook, and so much more! In fact, CRN magazine featured BlueJeans as one of the “7 Hot UC And Video Products Debuting At Enterprise Connect 2018.”
Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by the BlueJeans booth, attended a panel, or spoke with our representatives. It is such an exciting time to be at BlueJeans, where we truly are delivering a simple and trusted solution for the modern workplace. And you don’t have to wait a full year to see more, because InfoComm 2018 is right around the corner. See you there!
